Recently, our company has received feedback from customers that the measurement data is inaccurate when carrying out water quality testing. After our after-sales and family personnel's investigation, it was found that the operation of the pipette gun was not standardized when it carried out parameter testing, resulting in contamination of water samples, which caused the test results to be biased. And the test operator privately disassembled the pipette gun, making its range inaccurate, also contributes to the error.Pipette guns, also known as micropipettes, are laboratory tools used to accurately measure and transfer minute quantities of liquids, and their proper operation is critical to ensuring the accuracy and reliability of water quality testing data. The following is a copy of the water quality meter test in the pipette gun correct operating procedures and precautions, I hope to help water quality testing personnel to improve work efficiency and data quality.
1, choose the right pipette gun: according to the experimental needs to choose the appropriate range of the pipette gun, avoid the use of too large or too small range, in order to reduce the error. (We will provide suitable pipette gun with the machine, so customers don't need to choose by themselves.)
2, check the pipette gun status: ensure that the appearance of the pipette gun is not damaged, the piston movement is smooth, no leakage phenomenon. Regularly calibrate the pipette gun to ensure that its accuracy meets the experimental requirements.
3. Prepare the pipette gun tip: Choose a tip that matches the pipette gun and make sure it is clean and undamaged. Disposable tips should be checked for packaging integrity before use to avoid contamination.
1. Install the pipette gun tip: gently insert the tip into the slot of the pipette gun and rotate or press it until it is tightly fixed, avoiding over-tightening that may lead to deformation or rupture of the tip.
2、Pre-rinsing: Before formal sampling, pre-wetting the pipette tip with the liquid to be measured for 2-3 times to exclude the air and impurities in the pipette tip to ensure that the liquid removed is accurate.
3, set the volume: rotate the volume adjustment knob on the transfer gun to the desired volume scale, note that the action should be gentle, to avoid excessive force resulting in damage to the scale or loss of precision.
4. Aspirate liquid: Insert the pipette gun vertically below the liquid surface, slowly release the button to the first stop (usually the first gear), wait for a few moments so that the liquid enters into the pipette tip completely, and then slowly move the pipette gun out of the liquid surface to avoid air bubbles.
5、Discharge liquid: Move the pipette gun to the top of the receiving container, gently press it against the wall, and slowly press the button to the second stop (usually the second gear), so that the liquid is completely discharged. Be careful to control the speed to avoid liquid splashing or bubbles.
6. Release residual liquid: Continue to press the button to the very bottom to release the small amount of liquid remaining in the pipette tip to ensure the accuracy of the pipetted volume.
7. Disassemble the pipette gun tip: Gently remove the pipette tip from the pipette gun and properly dispose of the discarded tip to avoid cross contamination.
1. Avoid cross contamination: Always replace the pipette tip with a new one every time you replace the liquid or sample.
2. Hold and place gently: Operate the pipette gun in a smooth and gentle manner to avoid violent shaking or impact.
3、Regular maintenance: Check the performance of the pipette gun regularly, if you find leakage, precision degradation, etc., it should be repaired or replaced in time.
4. Temperature effects: Pay attention to the temperature difference between the pipette gun and the liquid to avoid the thermal expansion and contraction affecting the accuracy of the pipetted volume.
The above water quality tester test in the pipette gun correct operating procedures and precautions, fully applicable to our laboratory desktop and portable water quality tester equipped with a special pipette gun, if you have other testing problems can also be directly consulting customer service, WinRun professional after-sales team, to answer for you.
